Since we come from all over the world, I taught it would be nice to show one another what food we can find locally. It does not have to be local food but food that you can find where you live.
For example, I could go to McDonald's place an order for a Big Mac and upload the picture here. While a Big Mac is a Big Mac it might have some slight variations to the one that you find locally.
Alos we could show off local food, or things that your local is famous for.
You can also tell us what the food is about since not all of us may know of it and if you like and know may want to include a recipe for it.
Let the international food exhibition begin
This bowl of noodles is called Laksa Bee Hoon. It is a fished based curry serve with different types of tofu and fish balls. The noodle is a fine white semi transparent noodle called bee hoon.
It is often eaten accompanied by a chilli paste called sambal (background, left side of picture).
In the background is a deep fried fish cake. It's texture and bounce was excellent.
I later talked to the owner and found out that they did the fish cake on their own. Which is why it tasted fresh and still had it's bounced to it.
As for the curry, they also prepared that on their own. It was a wonderful meal.
I topped that of with a cup of local coffee.
My lunch cost me RM7.50 which is GBP1.12 or USD 2.21.
